Venerable Dhammadīpo Bhikkhu was ordained in 1994 at age 29 at Saingam Thammatararam Temple, Supanburi Province, Thailand. The temple’s abbot, Ajarn Yai Dhammadharo, taught him the dharma practice based on “The Four Foundations for Mindfulness (Satipattana4) and The Noble Eightfold Path by using hands to detect senses. As Lord Buddha said, “ Sammin shite Pasari te Sampashana Garee Hoti” or “practice raising consciousness by flexing your forearms up in a V shape close to your body, then letting it down making an L shape.”
When “practicing raising consciousness,” you also wiggle your fingers, when the fingers touch each other, feelings or Vedhana occurs; so you sense that feeling. When you sense that feeling again and again, you will sense it within, at the chest’s center near your xiphoid. You will then perceive the rise and fall of the Five Assemblies (Five Khandha) within. After 3 months and 7 days of being ordained,Venerable Dhammadīpo Bhikkhu had the clear insight on the route to be free from sufferings.
After the Buddhist Lent that year, his mother invited him to make a pilgrimage to Taimuang District, Phang Nga Province, Thailand. Later, Mr. Sathaporn Aksarachaipruk, one of his father’s brothers, constructed a Dharma training center called, “Baan Wang Muang Training Center”.
After successful Dharma practice trainings for their staff, Thailand’s Ministry of Education changed the name of the center to , “Ban Wang Muang, The Privately Owned Mind Training Development Center in Honor of His Majesty the King ” the first privately-owned dharma training center in Thailand.
To dedicate the merit to His Majesty the King who governs with justice and fairness for the sake of Thai people’s happiness; as well as to Her Majesty the Queen, the Mother of Our Land. Venerable Dhammadīpo Bhikkhu led the mind training session in the Million Hearts for the Mother of Our Land Exhibition. The event was organized by the Education Minister, his management team and the then Medical Department’s Director General who publicized the event to all units under his Department all over the country.
In the most auspicious Buddhachayantee year, marking the 2,600th anniversary of the Buddha’s enlightenment, the Buddha’s Dharma Chakra rolls and leads the Dharma crusade groups forward to benefit the global community.
Trainning their minds by adopting the practices of the Four Foundations of Mindfulness(Satipattana4) and The Noble Eightfold Path, people will acquire the intelligence to see the genuine truth and develop the right perception. Their thoughts, speeches and behaviors will be right, benefiting not only themselves and their families, but also the community. The country will then have capable and kind hearted human resources. When more and more people train their minds along the above practices the world will be peaceful. As Lord Buddha said, “Jittan Tantang Sukhawahang.” Well Trained minds bring forth happiness.
